The MAC platform has been long overdue for an update and its time we see it happen. By adding additional relief to the bolt geometry, we can accommodate a new modern selection of magazines. In order for the colt magazines in the SAS-M8 to work properly with the MAC-11 upper you will need an upper and bolt that are machined to accommodate the wider magazine feed lip geometry.
If you already have a Mac 11 upper and don't want to modify your bolt this is for you.
We have taken the Aves Mac-11 bolts and machined the necessary relief cuts to provide wide magazine compatible bolts for the SAS-M8 and other future wide magazine bolts. Do not worry double feed bolts are reverse compatible, meaning they will work with previous iterations or configurations of the MAC platform.
If you would rather purchase the Complete SAS-M8, it comes with the upper and bolt pre-cut so then there is no extra work necessary.
We will have dimensions and general instructions in the near future on how to do this yourself if you have machining capabilities and would like to DIY.
